Fishing Tournament
A couple of weeks ago, I was part of a fishing tournament. Whoever caught the biggest fish won a prize and also got to keep and eat their fish for dinner. There were lots of things to see and do at the tournament. I was with my mom running one of the booths. Our booth was a game booth. People gave money to us and we gave the money to the Long Island Crisis Center. The Crisis Center helps people who are feeling sad or need help. You can call them anytime and someone will talk to you. It is free to call and you don't even have to tell them your name. I learned that it is OK to ask for help-- here is their phone number if you want to call (516) 679-1111.

My tooth
Yesterday I lost my third tooth and I'm so excited! I am hoping that the tooth fairy brings 20 dollars. I plan on using that money to buy two new barbie dolls, one boy and one girl.

Spring Poems by Lia
This is my family all dressed up for Easter. In honor of spring, I wrote two poems.
I've been stuck inside all day
Now I go outside to play!
This poem means that I was stuck inside all winter, now it's spring and I go out to play.
Knock, knock, knock
Let me in.
Spring will begin.
This means that spring is at your door, and if you let it in, it will give you warm weather, flowers, and forests to explore.

The Osage Orange
This Fall, my friends and I went to a local park and we found a kind of fruit that was really strange looking. We didn't know what it was called. It looked like a brain. So, I brought one home and I search the internet and found the answer. This is called an osage orange. It was names after the Osage Indians. The wood from the trees is strong and bendable, so it is good for making bows and arrows. People also planted the osage trees around the outside of their farms, because the tree has spikes, kind of like barbed wired. If you touch it, you'll say OW!
