Snakes!

What animal smells through its tongue and has approximately one hundred bones in their back? If you said turtle, you are incorrect. (Haha!) It's a snake. I recently read a book all about snakes and my mom said it would count as schoolwork if I wrote a blog post about it. So here are the most interesting things I learned about snakes.

The largest snake ever recorded was forty nine feet long and weighed nine hundred ninety pounds! Snakes live almost everywhere, the only places where there are no snakes is Ireland, New Zealand, and the North and South Poles. Anaconda snakes hide in water. When something tasty goes in front of them, they strike, then drag their meal under the water to drown them. Simultaneously, they squeeze their victim so that they cannot breathe. Finally, they swallow it whole. Did you know that a ball python can eat prey that are three times larger than its head? Also, mongoose are immune to snakes venom? And now you know more than you did before about snakes.
